New technologies for small and medium-sized companies:

Together with Mr. Fischer, managing director of Autoglas Zentrum Landsberg, we recorded the requirements of his handicraft business. Our approach was about improving working processes through data glasses and identifying further facilitation methods for his company.

The solution was the utilization of our iVision® software.

Working processes were recorded exactly and analyzed precisely in order to check out whether data glasses could be used at all. We found that the different processes and needs could very well be combined with the requirements of data glasses. Processes were discussed from the first requests for order assignment to process control and the accompanying documentation to the connection to the existing IT system. We chose Vuzix M100 data glasses for implementation. Such data glasses offer the advantages of an integrated camera with voice support and a WLAN connection. Thereby, existing barcodes and items can be recognized and placed according to the order. Users will either be shown what items to take / to use or they can document the correct use when completing the order. This makes it easier to check later whether the job was well done.

At the end, the data glasses were connected to the existing IT and used under conditions of daily working life. After data glasses had been used for two months, Mr. Fischer came to the following conclusion: “I am enthusiastic about how fast the project was implemented and how easy it is to handle. Facilitation of work is measurable and more positive than we had expected.” i-Vision is pleased to have successfully completed this pilot project together with Autoglas Zentrum Landsberg. The use of data glasses has proven to be helpful both during daily work and with regard to the “classic” scopes of application with regard to logistics in the warehouse of Autoglas Zentrum Landsberg.
